Daily Writing Habit
Update: I wrote a guide on How to Develop a Daily Writing Habit. If that's your goal for this year, give it a read.
I've been trying since a long time to get into a habit of writing. I've failed so far.
I tried reading about how to write, about how to write well. Tried reading about getting out of the rut and kickstarting a writing habit. I basically went through everything that my own procrastination threw at me until today.
Ever since my notebook ran out, I stopped journaling on my physical journal. Procrastination took over and I've written on a physical page maybe 10 times in past 200 days.
Today. I wrote. I journaled 4 pages about my thoughts. I wrote down what has been circling in my mind for the last 6 months. I gave it an outlet in the form of writing, a format that's worked for me in the past but for some reason, I stopped.
Once I wrote, I felt free. I didn't want to stop writing. I opened Webflow, opened the CMS for my blog, and wrote this. I almost found a way to procrastinate by asking "but what should I write about".
But then a voice in my head (I'm not crazy) said - it doesn't matter. What matters is that I write.
And so I wrote. I wrote about writing today, and about not writing in the past.
And I end this note by saying, I want to write exactly like today, tomorrow and every day after that. Maybe on a different topic, or maybe not? Whatever helps me write, right?
Write.

BTW, try this super simple habit tracker app I created using Google sheets. I used it to track my daily writing habit.
